Crystal Ball Gazing- Preparing the environment

Before you sit down to do a crystal ball reading, take some times to prepare the environment around you. It's important to make certain you won't be interrupted. Let people around you know that you want to be left alone, that this is a special time you are taking for yourself. Tell them you don't want to be bothered unless its an emergency-and be sure to let them know what you consider an emergency! Turn off the phone. Have someone look after the kids. Keep your pets out of the room.

The environment in which you;ll be working should be peaceful and quiet with, nothing to distract you. Set up the ball so it doesn't roll. Have absolutely nothing else on the table except perhaps a plain tablecloth. The basic idea is that you don't want anything around that might distract your eye (and your mind) from the crystal ball.

You can do your reading in a quiet room for crystal ball gazing and meditating or you can play some soft, quiet, and uplifting classical or New Age music in the background.

You can leave the lights bright or dim the lights, then shine a light directly into the ball so that it is illuminated. You can use a candle behind the ball, a spotlight, a flashlight, or a light box that supports and illuminates the ball.

Make sure the temperature in the room is comfortable.

If you set up your room so the crystal ball is in or near a window, allowing sunlight to illuminate the ball be cautious. The crystal can act like a magnifying glass and burn skin, wood, cloth, or other material as the sun comes through it. It won't bother your eyes because the sphere isn't lying directly against them.

If you have limited time to do your reading, set a timer so you aren't interrupting your focus to check the clock. A good length of time for a reading is 10-30 minutes.

Have a small recorder nearby to record insights that come up for you during the reading. Often you will not remember all that you see. If you're doing the reading for another person it is good to record it so they can review it later. You'd be surprised how much we don't remember or hear the first time around.

Have the person you're reading for sit directly opposite of you, with the crystal ball between you. Adjust the distance if your are near-or farsighted. You want to have the ball close enough to see into comfortably, but not right in your face.
