Bur Marigold

Collection: The whole of the plant above ground should be collected when in flower between July and September. 

Though little used today, Bur Marigold has a reputation as a valuable astringent used for hemorrhage wherever it occurs. It may be used for fevers and water retention when this is due to a problem in the kidneys. When the dried herb is burned, the flower heads give off a cedar-like smell that will act as an anti-insect incense. 

Infusion: Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1-2 teaspoonfuls of the dried herb and leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes. This should be drunk three times a day.
