Parts Used: Dried Rhizome

Collection: The rhizome is unearthed in the early summer (May to June) or in the fall, when the leaves have dried. It Should be dried carefully in the shade. 

Bloodroot finds its main use in the treatment of bronchitis in any of its forms. 

Decoction: put 1 teaspoonfull of the rhizome in a cup of cold water, bring to boil, and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Drink 3 times daily.
