An excellent uterine tonic that may be used in any situation where there is a weakness or loss of tone. May be used at anytime during pregnancy if there is a threat of miscarriage. Can be used as an antispasmodic in false labor pain. When labor does ensue, use right before birth will help ensure an easy delivery. Can be used to bring on a delayed or suppressed menstruation, while ensuring that the pain that sometimes accompanies it is relieved. 

Decoction: put 1 teaspoonfull of dried root in a cup of water, bring to boil, simmer 10 minutes. Drink 3 times a day.
